Pupils from a Canvey school made a splash when they won a district swimming gala.
The youngsters from Canvey’s Cornelius Vermuyden secondary school were crowned Year 9 boys district champions. Eddie Whitehair won the butterfly, with Jake Piercy first in the backstroke.
Cameron Waters led the field in the breastroke and Brandon Bennett took top spot in the relay, while Iain Dockerill was third in the freestyle.
The district gala was held at Clements Hall in Hawkwell and saw pupils from senior schools in the Castle Point and Rochford districts competing.
