Preparation For Workplace Day

November 27, 2015

Year 11 pupils came into school for a completely different experience on 27th November. Students were dressed to impress with many looking years older than 16. The purpose of the day was for students to gain an understanding of what employers look for when interviewing for jobs.

Students spent the first session learning how to make a good first impression, how to present themselves at an interview and what to include on the Curriculum Vitae. Although some students had already completed their CV, lots of new ideas were proposed and this was part of the day all students said they benefitted from.

The second part of the day was the practical mock interview, many students were extremely nervous about this but with the training they had received in the morning they excelled in the interview process. The feedback from the Business guests was that our students were impeccably dressed, mature, interesting and full of excellent questions.

The day was a real success and this will give our students a huge advantage when going forward into their first interview experience.
