High IQ Students Featured on BBC Look East

June 5, 2017

On Monday 5th June, Cornelius Vermuyden were excited to host the BBC Look East news team, who contacted the school to complete a news piece on the six students who were admitted to Mensa thanks to their high IQ scores. This story was originally featured in the 'Evening Echo'.

Award winning presenter Robbie West, along with his camera crew and the online content editor completed almost three hours of filming at the school, with two different pieces completed for broadcast; one for the lunchtime news, and a longer, in depth piece featured on the evening news show at 6.30. This last piece was the final section on the news programme. The students featured - Michael Doran, Katie Jane Cox, Ethan Lewis, Charlotte Hills, Alyssa Duffield and Ellie McNelis - were extremely confident and took the day in their stride. They each completed interviews with the online content team and were professional and patient as the shoot went on.

The students really enjoyed the day and spoke confidently about the positive impact the Mensa IQ result had had on their lives and how it shaped their goals.

I am very proud of all the pupils and links to the story is available here, with more information here.
