Enrichment Fair 2016

September 11, 2016

On Wednesday 7th September 2016, Years 7, 8 and 9 attended the Cornelius Vermuyden Enrichment Fair. The idea, based upon University enrichment fairs, was for students to sign up for the various enrichment activities that take place after school here at the school.

Each activity had a stand and a teacher whose job it was to sell the activity to the pupils. Students then signed up to try out the activity for the first few weeks, with a view to further commitment later in the term. The atmosphere was electric, and students signed up for lots of after school clubs – the Year 7’s were especially keen, and led the way with the most sign ups! Pupils were ably assisted by the teaching staff, and my particular thanks goes to Miss Keeble and the PE team for rearranging their lessons so the sports hall could be used for the day. Furthermore, my thanks goes to all staff who supported the event by running a stand or helping students choose what to sign up for. Everyone made the event a great success.

If you are interested in after school activities, then please take a look and see the teacher responsible. If there are activities you would like to run, then please see Mr Keenan. All activities start week commencing Monday 12th September; there is a house point awarded every time you attend, and those with 100% attendance by the end of the half term are entered into a prize draw, with your name entered into the raffle each time you attend; the more you attend, the more chance you will get to win! I would advise all students to try and activity after school as it really does ‘enrich' the life of the school for everyone.

Enrichment activities can be found in the Enrichment Booklet, found on the website here.
