The 2017 outcomes were some of the best ever results for the school. Headteacher Carol Skewes congratulated the students and staff for their hard work and dedication at a time of major change for the GSCE qualifications.

The headline figures were as follows:

70% of students gaining a 4+ grade in English and Maths.

Across all the other subjects (still graded A*-G) there was an average pass rate at A*-C of 76%.

Individual subject related successes at A*-C were;

100% Additional Maths

100% Statistics

100% ICT

100% Photography

PE GCSE 100%

Btec Sports Studies 100%

95% Art

93% French

88% Triple Science

78% Geography

The numbers of A/A* and 7+ grades are higher than ever and some of the individual student performances are staggering in terms of the number of optimum grades attained especially the pleasing number of grade 9’s achieved despite nationally less than 3% being awarded. Whilst acknowledging the enormous achievements of the most able is very important, what gives me the greatest pleasure is the consistent progress that our students make irrespective of their ability or starting point. We are a truly inclusive school that embraces a ‘Respect, Resilience and Responsibility' philosophy and this along with the fantastic support and dedication of our parents and our wonderfully resourceful teachers have allowed us to scale such heights.
