It was a great pleasure to be accompanied by students; Mufaro Mutsatsa - Head Boy, Cerys Wilks - Head Girl, both in Year 11, Tommy Clarkson and Mia Mitchell from Year 7 at the Remembrance Service at the Paddocks, Canvey Island, on Sunday 13th November.
At Cornelius Vermuyden we feel it is important that our students understand our history, especially important events, and honour those who paid the ultimate sacrifice; who gave their lives that we may live in freedom.
On Friday 11th November, our students also attended the service at the Knightswick Centre. A very moving experience.
I was also amazed with how many of our students attended on Sunday representing the many groups on Canvey Island; Sea Scouts, Guides, Air Cadets, etc.
What a fantastic community Canvey Island is.
