On Wednesday 7th September, Years 7, 8 and 9 attended the Cornelius Vermuyden Enrichment Fair. The idea, based upon University enrichment fairs, was for students to sign up for the various enrichment activities that take place after school.

We have enjoyed a fantastic year of inter house competition from events such as netball and football in the Autumn term to cross country and basketball in the Spring term and later in the year table tennis, rugby, girls football and rounders.

It’s that time of year where emotions are running high. Year 11 came to the end of their five years at Cornelius Vermuyden and celebrated with their leavers assembly and prom. Many tears were shed and lots of hugs and goodbyes were shared.

Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. To celebrate this traditional feast day Staff at Cornelius Vermuyden School took part in a pancake competition.

Year 11 pupils came into school for a completely different experience on 27th November. The purpose of the day was for students to gain an understanding of what employers look for when interviewing for jobs.

Cornelius Vermuyden students rose to the challenge when asked to build a shoebox for the Samaritans Purse. Students filled 100 shoeboxes to be sent to those in need. An Interhouse competition was held to see who could fill the most boxes.
