MEDIA STUDIES - WELCOME & EXPECTATIONS

Welcome to the Media department. The Media department aims for pupils to acquire and develop:

  • - an overview of the past, present and future of Media history
  • - more purposeful and increasingly analytical enquiry;
  • - a grasp of the importance of interpretation and appeal of products for audience.

Through their study of Media, we hope pupils will gain:

  • - a deeper understanding of Media in contemporary society;
  • - respect for social, cultural, ethnic and religious diversity;
  • - skills to actively participate in our complex society.

The Media department endeavors to use the widest possible range of teaching and learning strategies, including developing ICT and project management skills.
