Tree of Values

Carol Skewes - Headteacher
December 1, 2016

Our Year 7 and 8 Art and Design club at The Cornelius Vermuyden School is proud to present our Tree of Values. In this afterschool club pupils came up with a number of creative design ideas, finally deciding on their favourite; a tree that symbolises the positive values that we experience at Christmas time. The tree features typography that the pupils created by making stencils and clay decorations that were glazed using the kiln. They used wallpaper and tools to create the textures and patterns that really make the letters stand out. Applying glazes to the clay added further colour and decoration.

Throughout the project, the pupils have shown a real team effort, working collaboratively and having fun in the process. They have demonstrated fantastic organisation skills and determination to make an exciting Christmas tree for their local community.
