STEM Family Challenge

On Friday 2nd February 2018, we hosted our Second STEM Family Challenge, the event was delivered by EDT an education charity and funded by Make Happen.

This was an opportunity for our students to work collaboravely with their siblings, parents, grandparents and other family members in building a Trebuchet.

Holly Ramsay from Make Happen and Josh from Writtle University College spoke to guests about Further Education opportunities and Industries.

It really was a fantastic event judging by the feedback from pupils and parents. Below some of the messages I received via email;

“Thank you for the invite to last nights STEM event it was very enjoyable. The evening was well presented and well run, the courtesy refreshments were very kind and generous too. The challenge meant three generations of our family could work together to design then actually build their successful version of a trebuchet. The White family were delighted with 2nd place in the overall scores! It was Lewis’ Grandads first visit to the School and he was very impressed. We look forward to any future events”

Grace Smith’s family won the award for the best Trebuchet, this follows their success from last year’s event.
