RYLA is an intensive learning programme for 14-17 year olds to improve leadership and communication skills, develop responsibility and debate current topics with peers and leaders.
RYLA helps:-
- Develop leadership skills
- Increase self confidence
- Gain exposure to a variety of issues and people
- Improve career skills and knowledge
- Meet community leaders and mentors
On Saturday 10th May 2014, Owen Russell, Shane Martin and myself went to Danbury to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Award Programme. I found it a really great experience. The weather might have been really bad but that made the whole day more of a challenge for my team. I met some really nice people in my team, a gymnast, an air cadet and even a farmer’s daughter. I was surprised at how much fun the day was, I made some really good friends and I hope I get through to the next round and see some of them again. Without them none of us would have got anywhere.
