Master Chefs at Cornelius

November 13, 2015

Pupils in Food Technology have excelled this term, producing work above and beyond expectations.

Outstanding chefs included Alyssa Duffield yr 7, who designed & made a fully personalised burger (that looked and tasted delicious ) and was presented in bespoke packaging, personally designed her.  Luke Barnard yr 7, decided to change his ingredients for a beef burger. He researched how to cook prepare and chicken for a burger,  experimented with what flavours worked well together and produced a chicken wrapped in bacon burger with cheese and a BBQ sauce.

Pupils in year 7 have had the opportunity to extend skills in the key stage 3 cooking club, led by Mrs Whitehair, 'All Occasion Cakes’. Recipes this term have included; Chicken Corden Bleu, Chocolate and Beetroot Spider Cupcake, Pork and Apricot Sausage rolls and mini Christmas Pudding Chocolates.

Pupils are enjoying making high skill level dishes that can be shared with all the family (and hopefully re-create at home!). There is a noticeable difference with their confidence not only in the kitchen environment, but working with their peers. Year 7 Pupils are supported by year 8 and 9 pupils. They are extremely proud of what they achieve (as are we!).

Any additional pupils wishing to join this club should put their names on the waiting list as soon as possible.
