Dear Parents and Carers

I am very pleased to announce that the Governors have appointed a new Headteacher, to be in post from January following the retirement of Mrs Skewes.

Mr Ian Hockey, who is current Deputy Headteacher, was selected from 15 applicants after a rigorous two-day interview process. From a short list of six very strong candidates who were interviewed on Tuesday, Mr Hockey was one of the three called back for a second gruelling day yesterday. The Governing Body had to make a very difficult decision as the three remaining candidates were exceptional, but after much deliberation and consideration Mr Hockey has been offered the position and has accepted.

The staff and Governors would like to congratulate Mr Hockey on his appointment. We are confident that Mr Hockey will be able to continue to improve the school and provide an oustanding education for students attending the Cornelius Vermuyden School.
