Cornelius Vermuyden
August 26, 2022
This year’s Year 11 cohort are the first to have sat examinations since 2019. Its sometimes easy to forget that this cohort of students entered their final year of school under COVID restrictions, and many will have felt uncertain as to whether examinations would have taken place at all. Sitting exams is an experience that can be very stressful, and our young people have not only navigated them with confidence and maturity but have done so following two years of disruptions to both their learning and their lives.
Thankfully, students at Cornelius Vermuyden School are now able to celebrate, as the GCSE grades they have achieved from their examinations will allow them to pursue the college/sixth form courses or other education or employments routes of their choice.
Ian Hockey (Headteacher) would like to thank Year 11 students, their families, and the Cornelius Vermuyden staff for all their hard work and efforts during the year.
“We are hugely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such a disrupted few years. Our teachers have worked determinedly to support our young people to achieve the grades they require to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.”
There were as always, some incredible individual achievements (Top 10 results);
