Current House Points Scores

Athena has had some great results, winning the House Bake Off and the Year 9 boys’ football. However, the House still needs to work harder regarding levels of participation and the new House Captains (Brooklyn Walker and Jodie Bonham) and the new Sports Captains (Joe Gladman and Millie Hawkins) are working tirelessly to get everyone involved. On a positive note, Athena had an amazing turn out for the House Performing Arts competition.

This year, Darwin continues to prosper – students have already had great success, finishing second in both the Performing Arts and Bake Off competitions. More recently, Darwin finished second for the Geography House competition, and even better in History where they came first. Also, in sport, Darwin is currently top of the table in Years 7, 8 and 10, and a close second in Year 9. Can Darwin be victorious again this year?

Einstein students have participated in all House competitions thus far, whether that be in sport, Performing Arts, or in the Bake Off. The new Einstein Sports Captains (Harvey Burry and Ellie-Marie Ashford) have worked hard to ensure that teams for events have been full, and Einstein’s sporting achievements include coming first in Year 8 netball, first in Year 9 boys’ cross-country, and second in the Year 8 girls’ cross-country. The new House Captains (Nicola Hull and Kiera Blake) are also working hard to boost levels of participation in non-sporting competitions and, in particular, the Einstein entry for the House Bake Off looked and tasted amazing. More recently, they were victorious in the Geography House competition!

Hera House has had a fantastic start to this new academic year and is currently performing extremely well in the overall House Point totals.  Indeed, Hera has enjoyed entering the boys’ football and girls’ netball competitions and, although team sports are not traditionally Hera’s strength, the teams from Years 7 to 10 all had great fun and tried their very best.  The new Sports Captain (Molly Brown) did a great job in ensuring that students turned out to play and Hera House is proud of every participant. Hera students also represented their House brilliantly during Open School, especially in the House Bake Off where the Hera tie was chosen as the team’s cake design. Hera’s most recent success came in the House Performing Arts competition – the Egg-cellent adventure in which Hera finished first.  House Captain Nathan Barlow was ably assisted by Grace Leyland and Zoe Hodsoll in Year 7, Sydney Whelan and Emma Chittleburgh in Year 8, Emily Atkin in Year 9, and Charlie Looker from Year 10.

Daisy Knowland and Mitchell Forde are the Zeus House Captains for 2016/17 and will oversee the House from a student perspective, encourage all students to take part in events, and be the first point-of-contact for any suggestions. Huge congratulations must also go to the Year 9 boys and the Year 7 girls who finished first in the House cross-country competitions – this earned Zeus 25 House Points! In addition, the Year 8 boys, Year 10 boys, and Year 9 girls all finished second and received 20 House Points each. Zeus House was also one of only two Houses able to boast complete teams in every Year Group – congratulations!

Remember: keep Expectations Cards free of signatures! As everybody knows, the Expectations Card is the easiest way for any House to earn House Points because totally or largely clean cards at the end of each first half-term earn 10 House Points per card.
